Eugene/Springfield Program Overview
The Osher Lifelong Learning Institute in Eugene/Springfield was originally established in 1993 as Learning in Retirement. It is a member-run program designed to help meet the educational interests of the area’s growing number of mature adults. Program membership is open to all who have an interest in the lifelong pursuit of knowledge; there are no requirements that involve prior college experience.
OLLI in Eugene/Springfield is a cooperative organization that depends on the active participation of its members. A Council of twelve, elected by the membership, acts as the main governing body while additional member-led committees help develop program policies, curriculum activities and special events.
Curriculum is offered through a monthly variety of thought provoking lectures, ongoing study and discussion groups, tours and activities. All upcoming program events are announced in a monthly newsletter and calendar sent to each member.
